Final year medical students from the University of PNG have joined the YWAM Medical Ships outreach patrol to learn and be trained in rural health.
The students visited 20 villages in the Western Province, helping to treat patients and give out medical supplies to community centres. Each student expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to broaden their experience.
“Coming here, I've seen how rural people live and how their lifestyle and environment can lead to disease. It has helped me expand my knowledge of public health and medicine in rural places.” - Lydia Dorum, Medical Student at UPNG
As partners of YWAM Medical Ships, Light of Hope charity fully supports their commitment to developing the skills of young locals to better help their own communities.
Education is so powerful! By partnering with Light of Hope you are helping train and develop these students so they can be the change in their villages, communities and country.
